Who Am I?

Hello and welcome to my blog!
A blog? Yes! A blog! I did not want to rely on a huge social media company to host my digital presence. So instead i decided to host this static html page here on neocities. Why? Well, first of all, not being on a huge social media platform is a huge privacy win! And i believe that not spending even a second in the hellhole that is modern social media is a huge mental health win as well.
So, who am i? The nickname i usually use online is Mimikatz, so you can probably call me Mimi. This is my little personal blog, where i'll be posting articles about the scene, link to interesting zines and devlog about my own little projects. As you may be able to tell from a simple look at this site, i am not a huge fan of CSS or frontend development in general. Hence, here is my profile as a simple html table.

While i believe that most of the tags from the interests section are self-explanatory, i want to give the terms 'scene' and 'zine' a little more context due to their antiquity. 'The scene' is an old name for the subculture of phreakers and hackers that arose in the early days of the internet. It was a community deeply intertwined with counter-culture and online-anarchism that used the unregulated internet of the pre-80's to have some fun breaking into early phone systems, notably without causing any real damage. It was mostly just curious teenagers, after all.
During this time, self-published magazines called zines took off, usually distributed as raw text files via phone service computers and later, over the internet. Some of my favorites include the Phrack zine and the Whole earth catalog , which at their core cater to the curiosity and anarchist sentiment prominent at the time.
Other than the authors of most of the older zines i love, i am not an anarchist. But i think that some of the rebellious spirit of that time can help us deal with the overwhelming rise of surveillance and monetisation that challanges the internet today.

Welcome to my webpage! I decided to lean into a more blog-like format, where all content is featured on the same page and can be navigated using the tree on the right. This will cause the site to explode in size eventually, but since i only post stuff about once in a new moon, theres plenty of time for me to come up with some sort of solution.
So, what exactly is this site for? I decided to use it as a sort of digital protfolio of my personal projects, and other peoples projects that i find cool or worth supporting. Dont expect a lot of writing, i usally like to keep that to a minimum. As for the topics- i have no idea right now, so that will be a suprise for everyone (incuding me).
